Hartley sign the Army's Matt Evans
Release date: 4th July 2018

The club are delighted to announce the signing of Sgt Matt Evans.



Matt has represented the Army over 30 times and the United Kingdom Armed Forces team 10 times. Matt has also played for civilian teams Rushden and Diamonds, Spalding and Winchester City.

Hartley Wintney co-manager, Dan Turkington, said of the signing, "the talented right back is a formidable opponent for anyone to come up against. We chased his signature from the off."

Turks continued, "He has been with us all pre-season, where he has already settled well into the squad. We are looking forward to working with Matt this coming season, he will be an excellent addition."

Sgt (SI) Matt Evans serves with the Royal Army Physical Training Corps. His 30 caps for the Army team saw them as three times inter services champions, and Matt awarded Player of the Season in 2016/17.
