Alresford in Aldershot Cup

With the league being our focus at the moment, I wonder if the boys will be sufficiently 'up' for this game tonight in the Aldershot Cup. They'll need to be if we want to go through.

Alresford have topped the Wessex Premier for most of the season and we've already been beaten by a club below them this season (Bashley in the Hants cup).

Last time I remember going to Alresford (Millers was delayed by work - Dan took the team) we led, missed a dozen good chances (I'll spare the forward by not naming him - he's no longer with us), and got done by two very late goals. The home side bench celebrated as if they'd won the FA Cup and league double. They'll want this win too.

We do have to be sensible and allow some squad players game time, but losing to lower league opposition - even good ones as Alresford obviously are - is never a good feeling. So shall we do this boys?

    Phew... did it.

Good defence by the visitors, keeper pulled off three or four very good saves, and their youngsters up front were clinical when taking their couple of chances. At times we overplayed, and we were a little sloppy at times too, but the pressure counted in the end... a bit too close to the end though.

A good contest tonight. Through to the semis, well done boys.
