Bath City 2 Hartley 2

What a great fight back and turnaround by the lads
in the second half as the underdogs caused a big upset by taking Bath to a replay. At half time the game was seemingly dead and buried as a very useful Bath side
controlled the game up until then and fully deserved
to be two up. We thought the second half was going to be a long uphill struggle, but to the surprise of all our travelling supporters (who were outnumbered but still could be heard) it turned into a titanic battle. It
began with the belated introduction of Kings up front
and we started winning the ball in the air and causing commotion in the Bath defence. It was no surprise that
after their keeper made a great save the rebound fell to Kings to lash home. From then on there was a feeling we could get another and that came via a fantastic strike from 20 yards by Nuur (another substitute)
that sailed into the net for the equaliser. From then on it was a real cup-tie going end to end and toe to toe but without either side finding the net. Perhaps in the end that was the best result. Dont ever say the FA Cup is dead, it aint. Everyone at Hartley, players and supporters, went home happy.
So back to Hartley on Tuesday, a different pitch,
a different atmosphere. Lets tell everyone to get
to the game and support the lads. If we make enough noise we can even rattle them again. Who knows,
we are still the underdogs, but cup games still are special.... UP THE ROW

A performance and result to be proud of, and the coaching staff and players were brave enough to change things at half-time, not just accept their fate and try to keep the scoreline respectable, and they gave it a real good go. Well done boys.
