Hartley Wintney vs Poole Town - MATCH POSTPONED

Post by Elayne - 29-11-2021, 13:37

The high winds on Saturday lifted the marquee on the school field and didn't quite lift it over the changing rooms so it crashed into it causing some damage to the flue, tiles and unfortunately my car!
Due to the damage to the flue we had to turn the boiler off immediately. Until the flue is fixed (hopefully all being well that'll be tomorrow) the changing rooms have no heating or hot water but most importantly no build up of carbon monoxide.
It was decided that the best option was to postpone the game vs Poole Town given the lack of facilities available to them and the long journey they had to make home again after the game.
We thank them for their understanding of the extraordinary circumstances ...its not the usual cause of postponement due to weather!

Thanks for explanation Elayne. Most unusual as you state!

I am just wondering about insurance claims and the costs involved, no claims etc. Most especially I was upset to learn that your own car had also suffered damage and I am sure that club members would not wish you to be out of pocket in any way. You do so much already for which we are truly grateful, so I trust that the committee will see you right.

Glad to learn elsewhere that emergency repairs have now been completed and the club is back in operation again. See you on Saturday for another important game. UTR.
